In 2014, Coahoma County↗ET School District reported a 51.7% graduation rate.
By 2025, the most recent published year, the district's rate was 90.7%. That was a 39.0-point improvement, and it marked a third consecutive year above 90%.
A turnaround in four phases
Coahoma County's path to 90% was not a steady climb. It came in distinct phases, each with its own character.

Phase 1: The initial rise (2014-2017). The rate increased from 51.7% to 75.1%, a 23.4-point gain.
Phase 2: The decline (2018-2019). The rate fell to 68.6% in 2018 and 65.2% in 2019. The earlier increase had not yet held.
Phase 3: A two-year step up (2021-2022). The rate was 80.8% in 2021 and 80.0% in 2022. The data show the higher level; they do not identify its cause.
Phase 4: Three years above 90% (2023-2025). The rate reached 92.9% in 2023, the first crossing of 90% in the available panel. It was 92.8% in 2024 and 90.7% in 2025.

The uneven path
The report-to-report changes show two declines before the latest three-year run. The rate fell 6.5 points in 2018 and another 3.4 points in 2019. It later rose 12.9 points in 2023.

The question of durability
The decline from 75.1% in 2017 to 65.2% in 2019 shows why three recent years should be read as an observed run, not proof of permanence.
The rate declined 2.1 points from 2024 to 2025 while remaining above 90%. The next published year will show whether the run continues.
The current result is narrower and still substantial: from 51.7% in 2014 to 90.7% in 2025, with three consecutive published rates above 90%.
